A new report from Puck News claims the scuttlebutt in Senate Democrat circles is that Minority Leader Chuck Schumer will not seek reelection in 2028. Some are even saying there are plans to elevate Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez as the “natural” replacement.
His grip on power within his party appears to be slipping away faster than anticipated. Fresh off a bruising government shutdown battle, the Schumer now faces open revolt from progressives and whispers from his own colleagues that his time in office may be drawing to a close.

The latest turmoil stems from a 40-day funding standoff where Democrats demanded protections for enhanced Affordable Care Act tax credits. In the end, eight Senate Democrats broke ranks and voted with Republicans to reopen the government without those safeguards. Schumer himself opposed the bill, declaring on the Senate floor, “This health care crisis is so severe, so urgent, so devastating for families back home that I cannot in good faith support this CR that fails to address the health care crisis.”

Yet that stance did little to shield him from backlash. Progressive voices wasted no time in demanding his head. Rep. Rashida Tlaib stated plainly, “The Democratic Party needs leaders who fight and deliver for working people. Schumer should step down.”
Rep. Ro Khanna echoed the sentiment: “Schumer is no longer effective and should be replaced.”
Even Rep. Seth Moulton, who’s eyeing a Senate run himself, called the episode “another example of why we need new leadership.”
This isn’t Schumer’s first rodeo with internal critics. Earlier this year, he caught heat for backing a Republican spending bill to dodge another shutdown. Now, with President Trump holding firm on his priorities, the repeated cave-ins paint a picture of a party unable to mount a unified front against policies that put American interests first.
According to Puck News, Senate Democrats “have no expectation he’ll run again.” At 75 years old this month, and with Nancy Pelosi’s recent retirement signaling a shift toward younger faces, Schumer’s future looks increasingly uncertain.
Polls from groups like Data for Progress show Ocasio-Cortez leading Schumer by 19 points in a hypothetical 2028 matchup. When pressed on whether she’d take him on, Ocasio-Cortez dodged but kept the door open, telling reporters, “I know I’m being asked about New York, that is years from now.” She shifted blame broader, saying, “This problem is much bigger than Leader Schumer.”
Left-wing outfits like Indivisible have vowed to push for Schumer’s ouster from leadership, joining a chorus that includes Our Revolution, which branded him “incapable of leading the fight.” California Gov. Gavin Newsom piled on, posting that “now is not the time to roll over.”
Behind the scenes, some wonder if this infighting masks a deeper plot—a calculated effort by radical elements to purge moderates and steer the party toward extreme policies that alienate everyday voters. After all, the defectors included figures like Sen. Angus King, who argued that prolonging the shutdown only empowered Trump further. As one observer noted, these fractures could hand Republicans even more leverage in upcoming battles over spending and health care.
For now, no formal push exists to boot Schumer, and no obvious successor has stepped up. Schumer’s allies, like House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, defend him as having “waged a valiant fight.” But with calls for change growing louder, the question isn’t if the party will move on, but when.

Why One Survival Food Company Shines Above the Rest
Let’s be real. “Prepper Food” or “Survival Food” is generally awful. The vast majority of companies that push their cans, bags, or buckets desperately hope that their customers never try them and stick them in the closet or pantry instead. Why? Because if the first time they try them is after the crap hits the fan, they’ll be too shaken to call and complain about the quality.
It’s true. Most long-term storage food is made with the cheapest possible ingredients with limited taste and even less nutritional value. This is why they tout calories so much. Sure, they provide calories but does anyone really want to go into the apocalypse with food their family can’t stand?
This is what prompted the Llewellyns to launch Heaven’s Harvest. They bought survival food from multiple companies and determined they couldn’t imagine being stuck in an extended emergency with such low-quality food. They quickly discovered that freeze drying food for long-term storage doesn’t have to mean sacrificing flavor, consistency, or nutrition.
Their ingredients are all-American. In fact, they’re locally sourced and all-natural! This allows their products to be the highest quality on the market, so good that their customers often break open a bag in a pinch to eat because they want to, not just because they have to due to an emergency.
At Heaven’s Harvest, their only focus is amazing food. They don’t sell bugout bags, solar chargers, or multitools. They have one mission – feeding Americans in times of crisis.
What they DO offer is the ability for people to thrive in times of greatest need. On top of long-term storage food, they offer seeds to help Americans for the truly long-term. They want them to grow their own food if possible which is why they offer only Heirloom, Non-GMO, Non-Hybrid, Open-Pollinated seeds so their customers can build permanent food security on their own property.
