Patriotic Americans have been celebrating their country’s two-hundred-fiftieth birthday all year. Although an increasing number of Democrats now despise America and even admit to feeling revulsion at the sight of Old Glory waving in the wind, 2026 has been an incredible opportunity to commemorate in grand fashion America’s founding principles, accomplishments, and enduring legacy.
Perhaps it is the heightened sense of American patriotism hanging in the air this year that is leading many ordinary citizens to become much more angry about the anti-American forces working to “fundamentally transform” the nation, to borrow President Barack Obama’s menacing description of the kind of “change” he seeks.
On social media platforms last week, videos spread of a Home Depot shopping experience in Dearborn, Michigan. Signs throughout the store were in Arabic. The original poster claimed (and later reporting confirmed) that major retailers throughout the Midwestern city — including Walmart, Costco, Kroger, and Albertsons — also include signs written in Arabic.
The poster concluded, “This is not assimilation, this is an Islamic Takeover of America.”
Commenters who responded to the videos were furious. One warned, “What are we doing, America? Are we capitulating to these Muslim invaders? Watering down our American standards by plastering signs in Arabic? ENGLISH is the official language of America.”
In describing the social media firestorm, journalist Bob Unruh pointed out that Dearborn, Michigan, now has a majority Muslim population, a Muslim police force, Muslim city officials, and official Muslim holidays. Dearborn’s Muslim mayor recently “told a Christian he’s not welcome in the city.”
Dearborn’s Muslim police chief recently “bragged about how a large increase in the number of Arab police officers was better serving the city and ended his boast with a Muslim prayer.” Dearborn recently renamed a city street in honor of a resident who has allegedly supported Islamic terrorism in the past.
Dearborn, Michigan, the hometown of Henry Ford and his Ford Motor Company, has been conquered. There is no other way to describe the reality of the situation. No matter how much Democrats pretend that Islam is compatible with American ideals, it is not. Christians founded America. Christian virtue provided the cement for America’s foundations in personal liberty. And the growth of Islamism in the United States represents a threat to the nation’s survival.
In one particularly egregious example of Barack Obama’s anti-American propaganda, the former president used to tell listeners a demonstrable lie — that Muslims played an instrumental role in America’s founding. In 2010, he said, “Islam has always been part of America.”
In 2014, Obama thanked Muslims for “building the very fabric of our nation” and insisted that they represented “the core of our democracy.” Obama even claimed that Americans share “common values” with Islam.
As many pundits pointed out at the time, the Founding Fathers were quite clear in their writings that they considered Islam a dangerous creed at odds with Americans’ love for God and liberty. When President Thomas Jefferson sent the Navy to the Barbary Coast to protect American merchant ships from Islamic pirates, he took time to read the Quran and correctly concluded that Muslims are commanded to “plunder and enslave” non-Muslims.
When Tripoli renewed attacks on American ships a decade later, President John Adams wrote that Islam’s founder and prophet was “a military fanatic,” while describing Islamic law as “contemptible.” President John Quincy Adams later wrote that Islam is “violence and lust: to exalt the brutal over the spiritual part of human nature.”
America’s sixth president argued, “The precept of the Koran is perpetual war against all who deny that Muhammad is the prophet of God,” rendering Islam inherently incompatible with America’s Judeo-Christian ethic, civic virtue, and democratic peace.
A hundred years later, Winston Churchill wrote of the manifest difference between Christianity and Islam:
“Christianity, however degraded and distorted by cruelty and intolerance, must always exert a modifying influence on men’s passions, and protect them from the more violent forms of fanatical fever, as we are protected from smallpox by vaccination. But the Mahommedan religion increases, instead of lessening, the fury of intolerance. It was originally propagated by the sword, and ever since its votaries have been subject, above the people of all other creeds, to this form of madness.
In a moment the fruits of patient toil, the prospects of material prosperity, the fear of death itself, are flung aside…All rational considerations are forgotten…they become…as dangerous and sensible as mad dogs: fit only to be treated as such…convulsed in an ecstasy of religious bloodthirstiness…civilisation is confronted with militant Mahommedanism. The forces of progress clash with those of reaction. The religion of blood and war is face to face with that of peace. Luckily the religion of peace is usually the better armed.”
Despite a half-century of anti-Western propaganda that has aggressively tried to rebrand Islam as “the religion of peace,” it is important to note that Churchill correctly described Christianity as the “religion of peace” and Islam as the “religion of blood and war.”
While Barack Obama and his fellow Democrats spend inordinate resources attempting to rewrite history, there has never been anything “peaceful” about Islam. It is also antithetical to America’s founding principles.
Driving this last point home, Islamic supremacist Linda Sarsour just released a video plea for Americans to replace the Declaration of Independence. As real Americans know, the Declaration is distinct from the U.S. Constitution. Although it expresses Americans’ founding principles, it is not a governing charter or legal document that can be repealed. Sarsour doesn’t care.
Calling the two-hundred-fiftieth anniversary of the Declaration of Independence “quote unquote ‘America’s birthday,’” she argues that “marginalized” people should “want to build a document that is our values and our principles.” She then tells her followers that they will “fight back” and “win.”
From Sarsour’s point of view, then, “winning” is about aborting America’s birthday and replacing the United States with some foreign nation founded on her Islamic supremacist values.
The hijab-wearing Linda Sarsour is a member of the Democratic Socialists of America, an organization that embraces revolutionary violence. She helped elect New York City’s Muslim Mayor Zohran Mamdani. She is working to elect Michigan’s Muslim senate candidate, Abdul El-Sayed. She hates America.
But because she is one of seven children whom her “Palestinian” immigrant parents had in Brooklyn, the U.S. Supreme Court says that she’s an American citizen. Despite everything Americans have given her, she feels entitled to destroy America on behalf of her Islamic brothers and sisters living in the Middle East. In return for waging war against the United States, Sarsour’s “non-profit” organizations have received millions of dollars from American taxpayers.
This is insane. American taxpayers subsidize Islamic supremacists working to conquer the United States. As one angry commenter told Sarsour, “You were fortunate that just because you were born here that you can claim US citizenship. Not a single strand of your DNA is American.” Another called Sarsour’s anti-Declaration of Independence video “subversion” and concluded, “These people have to go.”
One thing is certain: The threat of Islam to America is not going away. Decades of open borders policies have invited millions of Muslims into the United States. Some assimilate. Many do not. And when Muslim immigrants become a significant percentage of any local American population, they immediately project their numerical strength.
Muslims choose to build mosques next to the World Trade Center site in Manhattan, where Islamic terrorists murdered 3,000 Americans on September 11, 2001. They build giant mosques that overwhelm rural American towns. Muslims blast Islamic calls to prayer over loudspeakers in cities and towns across America. Muslims pull out prayer mats and transform busy public squares into open-air mosques. This is nothing less than a declaration of Islamic supremacy: We are taking over America.

Two Storms, One Harvest
Every food crisis in living memory has been a one-shock event. The 2008 price spike was a commodity bubble. The 2020 shortages were a logistics failure. The 2022 grain scare was a war on one exporter’s ports. Each time, the system bent, adjusted, and recovered, and each time the experts assured us afterward that global markets are simply too big and too diversified to fail.
What nobody in Washington seems eager to discuss is that 2026 is shaping up to be something the modern food system has never actually faced. Two independent shocks, one climatic and one geopolitical, are converging on the same harvest cycle at the same time. Not sequentially. Simultaneously.
Start with the weather. The Pacific Ocean is currently building toward what forecasters now openly call a record event. NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center puts the odds of at least a strong El Niño near 88 percent, with roughly two in three odds it reaches “very strong” status, the tier reserved for perhaps three or four events in the entire satellite era. Every major global model now projects a median peak in Super El Niño territory, and most of them project it exceeding the 2015-16 event, which until now held the modern record. Sea surface anomalies were already brushing the super threshold in mid-July, months before these events normally peak. The atmosphere has already shifted into El Niño mode, and the event is forecast to crest in late fall and early winter.
This is not about “climate change.” It’s about the standard cycles of weather, and the cycle we’re currently in is one that has likely devastated societies in the past. We’re better prepared as a society today, but not all Americans are equally prepared.
Serious households have started doing the quiet math on their own. The Fertilizer Clock Is Already Running
While the Pacific warms, the second shock has been unfolding in the Strait of Hormuz. The conflict with Iran turned the world’s most important energy chokepoint into a contested waterway, and the consequences reach far beyond the gas pump. Roughly a third of global fertilizer trade moves through Hormuz, and the disruption sent urea prices up 86 percent year over year by March, with a 53 percent jump in a single month.
The World Bank projects energy prices rising about 24 percent in 2026 and fertilizer about 31 percent. By its own accounting, fertilizer prices ran 35 percent higher in the first five months of this year than the same period last year.
Here is the mechanism the nightly news will not explain. Fertilizer is not a grocery item. It is a time-delayed input. The nitrogen a farmer in Iowa or Punjab could not afford to apply this spring does not show up as a problem this spring. It shows up as a thinner harvest six to twelve months later.
The World Bank’s own food security brief concedes that the effects of reduced applications earlier this season “are likely to become visible only later in harvest outcomes.” Translate that from institutional language into plain English and it means this. The damage is already done, it is already in the ground, and we are simply waiting for it to arrive on the shelf.
Now check the calendar. Six to twelve months from the spring planting season lands us squarely in late 2026 and early 2027. Which is precisely when the strongest El Niño in the instrumental record is forecast to peak, bringing its signature droughts to Southeast Asia, Australia, southern Africa, northern Brazil, and South Asia, the very regions that grow the world’s rice, sugar, and oilseeds.
The World Bank warns openly that a strong El Niño “could disrupt multiple crop belts simultaneously” on top of the conflict-driven input costs. Their baseline projection assumes the Middle East disruptions ease by autumn. What in the last two years of Middle East history suggests that assumption is safe?
The System Has No Slack Left
The comfortable answer is that global markets always adjust. But adjustment requires slack, and the slack is gone. Global cereal production is expected to decline from last year’s records even before El Niño does its work. The UN World Food Programme, hardly a den of right-wing preppers, is calling this the most significant disruption to its supply chains since Covid and the invasion of Ukraine, and its supply chain director put the stakes bluntly.
Today’s supply chain challenges are tomorrow’s hunger crisis.
There is also a political dimension that markets cannot price. When food gets scarce, governments do not behave like economists. They behave like politicians. Export bans, hoarding mandates, and panic buying at the national level turned the modest rice shortfall of 2008 into a global crisis, and analysts are already warning that import-dependent nations are the first dominoes.
The 2015-16 Super El Niño, a far weaker event than what is now forecast, threw tens of millions into food stress across Africa and Asia. This one is projected to be stronger, and it arrives with fertilizer already rationed by price and shipping lanes already contested by missiles.
What Joseph Knew
Scripture does not treat preparation for lean years as faithlessness. It treats it as wisdom delivered in advance to those willing to act on it.
Behold, there come seven years of great plenty throughout all the land of Egypt: And there shall arise after them seven years of famine; and all the plenty shall be forgotten in the land of Egypt.
Joseph did not respond to that warning with a hashtag or a committee. He stored grain during the years of abundance, and when the famine came, Egypt stood while its neighbors begged. The lesson is not that famine is certain. It is that the time to prepare is precisely when preparation still looks optional.
Nobody who filled a pantry in a year of plenty has ever regretted it, and nobody standing in an empty aisle has ever been glad he waited for certainty.
