It was theater of the absurd, meaning absurdly extremist, the most extremist political speech I have ever heard from an American president. I’d wager it was the most extremist ever delivered. Yet it was theater, lit in red, short on facts but (as theater is wont to be) clothed in images. It was dangerously extremist drama meant to convey that Joe Biden’s opponents are dangerous extremists.
