Abortion activists joined Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer on Wednesday to celebrate the enactment of a pro-abortion state constitutional amendment that could lead to unborn babies being aborted for any reason up to birth.
MichiganLive reports Whitmer, a pro-abortion Democrat who recently vetoed funding to help pregnant and parenting moms in need , also signed an executive directive Wednesday requiring state government entities to make sure they follow the new amendment.
The directive will ensure state agencies and departments “provide the maximum protection possible for the fundamental right to reproductive freedom enshrined in the Michigan Constitution,” her office said in a press release . It will go into effect on Christmas Eve.
