Rep. Andy Biggs, R-Ariz., says that the only way House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy becomes the next House Speaker is if he gets Democrat support.
House Republicans are debating who they want as the next House Speaker with McCarthy getting the nomination but lacking the 218 votes so far needed. Biggs is mounting his own challenge and is one of five Republicans who have declared they won’t supporting McCarthy.
“The next question is is Mr. McCarthy willing to cross the aisle and try to recruit Democrats to vote for him for speaker?” Biggs asked on the Friday edition of the “Just the News, No Noise” television show.
