Chicago woman Lynn Andrews was spending the day on the Charles River in Massachussets when she asked her husband to hold her rings for her while she applied her sunscreen. She placed the rings in his shirt pocket (he said this way a bad idea) and forgot to put them back on.
After a while, her husband decided to go for a swim and took his shirt off, and when he did, Lynn’s diamond ring flew overboard and sunk to the bottom. Lucky for Andrews, the Cambridge Fire Department’s Dive Team and Marine Unit were working a detail on the Charles River that day. Talk about being in the right place at the right time.
