Authorities are investigating two suspected arsons over the weekend at a Catholic church in West Virginia and a Catholic bookstore in Texas after radical pro-abortion activists called for churches to be targets of outrage.
Both incidents took place as abortion activists protested across the country in response to the U.S. Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade last week.
Firefighters in Raleigh County, West Virginia, suspect arson was the cause of a fire at the historic St. Colman Catholic Church on Sunday, the Catholic News Agency reports . The church was a designated national historic landmark.
The Beaver Volunteer Fire Department said the fire already had destroyed the building by the time they arrived, and it was “suspicious in nature.”“Upon arrival we found the structure was already burned to the ground and smoldering.
