(DCNF)—Fox News host Greg Gutfeld tore into MSNBC host Joe Scarborough on Tuesday, saying that Scarborough has no credibility lecturing the public about who is qualified to serve in any given job.
Scarborough criticized Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), calling the federal agents “clowns” on television who lack proper training. Gutfeld said on “The Five” that Scarborough forfeited any authority to assess competence or health after repeatedly portraying Biden as fit for office.
“We see these clowns on TV with improper training, and we understand they’re doing everything wrong,” Scarborough said.
“First of all, Joe Scarborough should not be giving any analysis on competence or physical health. This is a guy who diagnosed Biden as fit. Doesn’t he have, shouldn’t he be like hidden somewhere? I would be hiding myself in shame after the four years that Joker had.”
In 2024, Scarborough defended then-President Joe Biden’s cognitive condition, even ridiculing the idea that Biden should avoid a head-to-head matchup with President Donald Trump. After Biden stumbled repeatedly during a CNN presidential debate against Trump, Scarborough reversed course and publicly suggested Biden wasn’t capable of serving a second term.
“McCarthy had a habit of saying one thing in public, lying in public, and then privately telling his aides just the opposite, that Biden was sharp, that he was cogent, that he was substantive,” Scarborough said during the June 5 episode. “In the same meeting that Kevin McCarthy is now telling The Wall Street Journal Biden was out of it, he went out and he told reporters after the meeting that the meeting was, quote, ‘the best yet, we are making progress and I’m going to be talking to Joe Biden every day.’”
He later changed his tune, however, drawing a clear line between Biden’s ability to manage the presidency and his capacity to campaign for another term.
“We know Joe Biden can govern. I’ll debate that issue with anyone, and I will win. I will destroy anybody that wants to debate Joe Biden’s record over the past three and a half years,” Scarbrough said. “He can run the White House … But can he run for president in 2024? Donald Trump lied. Over and over and over and over again, and Joe Biden couldn’t respond to any of those lies. In fact, as The New York Times said, he spent much of the night with his mouth agape and his eyes darting back and forth. He couldn’t fact check anything Donald Trump said.”
